Advantages and Typical Class Day

Since 1975, Lawrence Park Preschool has provided a high-quality preschool program to hundreds of families in Lawrence Park and surrounding communities.  Our advantages include:

- Small Class Size.  We strive to maintain a teacher/student ratio of 1:10.

- Quality Teachers.  All of our teachers have degrees in Early Childhood  or Elementary Education.

- Developed Curriculum.  Did you know that not all preschools have a curriculum?  We follow a developed curriculum that works to build your child's knowledge throughout the school year.

- Field Trips.  Some past field trips include Birch Farms, the Erie Zoo, Brevillier Village, Twinbrook Nursing Home, the Fire Department, Library, and Erie Gymnastics Center.

- School Presentations, open to family members.  Past presentations include Halloween Parade, Thanksgiving Program, Christmas Program, and Graduation, complete with graduation cap.  Plus, students can sit on our float during Lawrence Park's 4th of July Parade!

- Guest Speakers.  Past speakers include dental hygienists, vision screenings, rides on a school bus, and nature talks.

- We just introduced our new "LUNCH BUNCH" program this year.  This is an extended day program offered to all of our preschool children.  The program runs every Wednesday from 11:40 a.m. to 2:00.  To learn more please click LUNCH BUNCH

-We currently offer a 2-day and 3-day program, and 5-day Pre-K program for children entering kindergarten the following year.  We follow the Iroquois School District calendar.

Typical Class Day

Preschool begins with drop-off at 9:00 am and the children start their day with 20 minutes of free time.  This time helps to provide socialization with children of all ages.

Following playtime, the children gather as a group for calendar time where we discuss the day of the week and the date, the weather, and any news articles that children have brought in to discuss.

After calendar time, the main room is separated into four separate learning areas by
portable walls.  Each class follows its own curriculum as developed and taught by the class teacher.  Special art projects are also completed during this time.  Snack time occurs during this time, and healthful snacks are encouraged.

Before 11:25 am dismissal, the children gather together as a group once again for music and exercise time.

"I have had two of my three sons complete the program at Christ the Redeemer Preschool and have been nothing but pleased.  My third son now attends Lawrence Park Preschool and loves it.  I would not go anywhere else."
